摘要	Half esters (R)-5 of 1,1'-binaphthalene-8,8'-diol undergo 1,4-addition of lithium dialkyl cuprates followed by formal 1,2-addition to give beta-substituted ketones (S)-6 or (S)-7 with high enantioselectivity (96 similar to 100% ee).
