摘要	Calli were induced from leaves of Lysionotus pauciflorus native to Yunnan, China, on gellan gum-solidified MS medium containing 2 mu mol 1(-1) 2,4-D. They showed 4 times proliferation in liquid medium of the same composition as callus induction after 4 weeks of culture. Shoots were induced from callus on gellan gurnsolidified regeneration medium containing 32 mu mol 1(-1) BA or 0.5 mu mol 1(-1) zeatin. Also, numerous shoots were directly induced on leaf explants on medium containing low concentrations (0.25-8 mu mol 1(-1)) of NAA with or without 1 mu mol 1(-1) BA. Regenerated shoots rooted on half strength MS medium without any phytohormones.
