AbstractThe total synthesis of paeonilide, a natural anti-PAF (platelet-activating factor) new skeleton monoterpenoid with an IC50 value of 8 mu g/mL, was achieved in 16 steps with 15% overall yield from commercially available 2-hydroxy-4-methylacetophenone.
