摘要 | Isodon scoparius (C. Y. Wu et H,W Li) H. Hara (Labiatae), a morphologically specific species, is colloquially known as “Zhu-Zong-Cao” and used extensively as an antipyretic and anti-inflammatory agent by the Naxi people of Yunnan Province. Previous phytochemical investigation on I. scoparius has led to the discovery of a series of bicyclic ent-clerodanoids and ent-labdanoids along with their cyclobutane-bearing meroditerpenoids. The meroditerpenoids were generated through an intermolecular [2 + 2] cycloaddition between a diterpenoid core and a trans-4-hydroxycinnamic acid ester and showed significant immunosuppressive activities. In order to achieve the sustainable utilization of plant resources, I. scoparius was cultivated in Kunming Botanical Garden and its chemical constituents were systematically investigated. This project aimed to further explore the novel bioactive diterpenoids as well as meroditerpenoids and figure out the differences of secondary metabolites of this plant in different regions. As a result, 83 compounds including 25 new ones were isolated from the aerial parts of the cultivated plant (20 kg). Among them, 13 meroditerpenoids including a novel meroditerpenoid with cyclobutenyl p-hydroxyphenyl ether moiety were discovered. The novel meroditerpenoid exhibited moderate inhibitory effects against the proliferation of B lymphocytes and T lymphocytes and good anti-MRSA activity. Therefore, the study find that cultivated I. scoparius could also produce novel structurally diverse meroditerpenoids. Moreover, the findings could enrich the chemical structure types of secondary metabolites of this species and provide the basis for further biological studies and the discovery of lead compounds. |
