摘要	Typhonium jinpingense Z. L. Wang, H. Li & F. H. Bian (Araceae) from Yunnan. China, is described as a new species in Araceae. The karyotype of metaphase chromosomes in somatic cells is: 2n = 10 = 2m+2st+6sm. This is the lowest diploid number so far reported in this family.
